Splash Planet is Hastings' main family amusement park, mixing water slides, pools and dry rides in a landscaped park setting. It is a very local kind of attraction, but useful in Hawke's Bay when children need a break from wineries, Art Deco streets and coastal drives.
The park is highly seasonal, so check dates and hours before building a day around it. On hot summer days it can be a practical half-day stop, while outside the main season it is easy to skip.
