Things to Do

Vava'u's main draw is its water. The archipelago of sheltered islands and deep-water passages makes it one of the finest sailing destinations in the Pacific, and humpback whale swimming from July to October is the experience that draws visitors from across the world. On land, the pace is slow by intention — the island is for diving, kayaking, exploring caves, and eating fish on a waterfront terrace.

Neiafu has enough small restaurants and bars to keep you fed and entertained in the evenings. Day trips to the outer islands are easily arranged from the harbour, either on a charter boat or a local vessel.
