Parz Lake (Lake Clear) is a small, brilliantly clear mountain lake about 6 kilometres east of Dilijan, reachable by a short drive or a pleasant 2-kilometre walk through the national park forest. The lake sits in a hollow of beech trees and on a calm day the reflection of the surrounding forest gives the water an almost painted quality.
There are rowboats for hire, a zip-line across part of the lake, and basic food stalls along the shore. In summer it gets genuinely crowded with Armenian families; arrive in the morning or on a weekday for a quieter experience. In autumn, when the beech trees turn gold around the lake's edge, it is one of the most beautiful spots in the Armenian highlands.
