Hospiz Alm

The Hospiz Alm is one of the legendary restaurants of the Arlberg — a great wooden chalet at St. Christoph, attached to the historic Arlberg-Hospiz Hotel, with a fireplace large enough to walk into and a wine cellar that holds over 30,000 bottles. The signature show is the giant rum bottles paraded through the dining room by waiters in lederhosen, but the food is genuinely excellent: classic Tyrolean dishes done with precision.

A long, expensive lunch here is the standard treat for the Arlberg's better-heeled visitors — reserve well in advance, especially during peak weeks. Smart casual dress; ski boots are accepted on the side terrace but not in the main dining room.
