St. Christoph sits literally on top of the Arlberg pass at 1,800 metres, between St. Anton below and Stuben on the Vorarlberg side. There is little here other than the historic Arlberg-Hospiz Hotel and a handful of other lodgings — the Bundessport- und Freizeitzentrum (the Austrian national ski training centre), and the famous Arlberg ski school, founded by Hannes Schneider in 1921 and still considered one of the best in the world.
The pistes around St. Christoph are wide and high — sunny in the morning, with lift access to the Galzig and from there to the entire Arlberg network. Good for serious skiers who want to be at altitude from the moment they step out of their hotel.
