Stuben am Arlberg

Stuben is the smallest and quietest of the Arlberg villages — a single street of old wooden houses on the road over the Flexen pass, with a handful of small family-run hotels and one chairlift up to the Albonagrat. It was the birthplace of Hannes Schneider, founder of the Arlberg ski school, and the modest museum in the village commemorates him.

From the Albonagrat lift, intermediate and advanced skiers can access some of the least-tracked off-piste runs on the Arlberg, often days after a snowfall. The village itself feels closer to a working Tyrolean settlement than to a ski resort, and that is its appeal.
