Stadtplatz

The Stadtplatz is the long rectangular main square of Radstadt's old town, lined with pastel-painted burgher houses, the old town hall, and a baroque plague column raised after the epidemic of 1714. The square is half pedestrianised; the cafe terraces fill on summer evenings.

This is the place where everything in Radstadt eventually happens — the weekly market, the Christmas market in December, the start of the carnival processions in February. The Tourist Information office on the square has good free maps of the surrounding walking trails.
