Eating in St. Johann means mostly Tyrolean cooking: Tiroler Gröstl (a fried potato and meat hash), Kaiserschmarrn (shredded sweet pancake with fruit compote), and Wiener Schnitzel served in generous portions at cosy Gasthäuser. The main pedestrian zone has a cluster of restaurants and cafes; the better places tend to be slightly off the main tourist drag.
