Steyr eats well for its size. The classic Upper Austrian dishes — Bauernschmaus (a plate of pork, sausage, and dumplings), Tafelspitz, Steyrer Lebkuchen — are available at the historic inns. Several long-running family restaurants on or near the Stadtplatz cover regional cuisine; the area around the Stadtplatz is also where most international restaurants cluster.
