Chinar, an Asian-fusion restaurant and lounge bar with branches across the Caucasus, sits in a corner of central Baku and has become something of an institution for the well-dressed end of the nightlife scene. The food is competent if expensive — sushi, dim sum, large platters — but the bar is the reason most people come, with a long cocktail list and a DJ on weekend nights.
It's open late and the dress code is enforced — smart-casual at a minimum, no shorts. Reservations recommended on Fridays and Saturdays. A useful spot if you want a single nightlife venue that doesn't feel like an expat sports bar.
