Ashaghi Govhar Agha Mosque

The Lower Govhar Agha Mosque is the smaller sibling of the upper mosque, a few hundred metres downhill. It was also commissioned by Govhar Agha and designed by Karbalayi Safikhan Karabakhi, with a single minaret and a more modest prayer hall.

The brick exterior with patterned bands is similar to the upper mosque but plainer. The setting — a square fronted by old plane trees — is one of the more atmospheric corners of the old town.
