Alinjagala is a mountain citadel and one of Nakhchivan's strongest historic sights. The ruins sit high above the surrounding valleys, with wide views over the dry mountain landscape.
Reaching the fortress requires climbing the stairs from the road, so it is a deliberate outing rather than a quick roadside stop. A small museum at the foot of the mountain gives useful context before the climb.
