Babek's main draws are archaeological. The two Kultepe Bronze Age sites are among the most significant prehistoric sites in the South Caucasus, on UNESCO's tentative list, and accessible with a local guide or hired car from Nakhchivan city. The Sirab mineral springs in the northeast of the district attract Azerbaijani visitors who come for the carbonated water, which is bottled and sold across the country. The landscapes themselves — the Daralayaz foothills, the broad Araz valley plain, and the view south towards Iran — are worth the drive.
