Antwerp's most spectacular dining room — a vast 19th-century brick pumphouse on the north docks, converted to a restaurant in 2002 without losing the original cast-iron pumps and overhead gantries. The space is the size of a small church, with a single long bar running down one side.
The menu runs to Flemish brasserie classics — paling in 't groen, stoofvlees, vol-au-vent — done well. Sunday lunch is the busy slot; book ahead. The setting is the main attraction; the food is dependable rather than spectacular. About twenty minutes' walk from the MAS museum, or take tram 7.
