Getting There

Ghent Sint-Pieters is the main railway station, served by frequent Intercity trains from Brussels (about 35 minutes), Bruges (about 25 minutes), and Antwerp (about 50 minutes). From Brussels Airport, take the train to Brussels Midi and change for Ghent, or take a direct train if available. The trip from Brussels Airport takes about an hour total.

There is no major international airport in Ghent. Brussels Airport (BRU) and Brussels South Charleroi Airport (CRL) are the main entry points from outside Europe; from Amsterdam, Paris, or London, international trains reach Brussels and connect onward to Ghent.

Ghent has two other railway stations — Ghent Dampoort and Ghent Rabot — but Sint-Pieters is the central one. From the station, trams connect to the historic centre in about 10 minutes.
