Openluchtmuseum Atlantikwall

Preserved Atlantic Wall bunkers and tunnels at Raversyde

Openluchtmuseum Atlantikwall at Raversyde preserves one of the strongest Second World War landscapes on the Belgian coast. Bunkers, gun positions, trenches and tunnels show how the German Atlantic Wall turned dunes into military infrastructure.

It is more immersive than a conventional museum because you move through the defences themselves. From Ostend it is an easy coastal tram trip, and the sea air makes the concrete positions feel both exposed and claustrophobic.
