Pedestrian Zone (Gospodska Street)

Gospodska Street and the surrounding pedestrian zone form the social core of Banja Luka. The main street is lined with cafes, shops, and restaurants, and in the evenings and weekends it fills with the entire population seemingly at once — the Balkan tradition of the korzo (the evening promenade) is alive and well here.

The area is flanked by several of the city's key buildings: Banski Dvor, the old orthodox church, and various Yugoslav-era institutional buildings that give the centre a certain official grandeur. The pedestrian zone is also where you find most of the city's cafe terraces, which are populated from early morning for coffee until late into the night for drinks. This is Banja Luka at its most social and most relaxed.
