The Admiral Wine and Ale House

The Admiral is one of the few proper traditional pubs in the town centre — low beams, bare floorboards, and a bar that stocks a reasonable selection of local ales alongside the standard lagers. It is a reliably unpretentious place for a pint and simple pub food, the kind of bar where you end up staying longer than planned because the atmosphere is genuinely comfortable rather than manufactured.

No music, no screens: conversation is the main entertainment. The kitchen does solid pub classics — pies, burgers, fish and chips — at prices that feel reasonable by Jersey's generally expensive standards.
