Milna is the best beach on the island of Vis and one of the finest on the Dalmatian coast — a broad arc of rounded white pebble about 2 km east of Komiža, backed by pine trees and looking out over the open sea toward the smaller islands to the south. The water is exceptionally clear and shelves gently into the deeper sea. In early morning or late afternoon, before the day-trippers arrive from the ferries, it is close to perfect.
The beach has a basic cafe and some sunbed rental in summer. The walk from Komiža takes about 30 minutes along a coastal path with views over the water. By car or scooter it takes five minutes. The pine shade behind the beach makes it tolerable even in the height of summer.
