Osijek is connected by train to Zagreb (about 4 hours, several daily services), though the buses are often faster. The Osijek bus station is central. Osijek Airport (OSI) has a few seasonal connections to Western European cities on low-cost carriers, but it is not well served year-round — most visitors arriving by air come through Zagreb and transfer by bus or train.
By car, Osijek is about 290 km east of Zagreb on the A5 motorway (Slavonian highway), roughly 3 hours' drive. From the Croatian coast, expect a long day through Zagreb. Vukovar, Đakovo, and the border crossings into Hungary are all accessible as day trips or extensions.
