Šibenik is roughly halfway between Zadar and Split on the Adriatic coast. The nearest airports are Split (about an hour south by road) and Zadar (an hour north); both have year-round connections to major European cities and seasonal low-cost flights. Frequent buses run from Zagreb (around 5 hours), Split (1 hour) and Zadar (1 hour 15) into the central bus station, a short walk from the old town.
The local railway station is on a branch line from Perković with limited service; for most travellers the bus is faster and more frequent. Catamaran services from Split and the islands dock at the harbour right in the centre.
