Getting There

The easiest approach is the car ferry from Ploče on the mainland — the crossing takes about an hour and runs several times daily year-round. Ploče is on the Adriatic Highway about 100 km north of Dubrovnik and 130 km south of Split.

Coming overland from the Croatian mainland side, Trpanj is the obvious north-coast entry to the Pelješac peninsula; from Orebić at the southern tip (with its connections to Korčula island) it is about an hour's drive over the spine of the peninsula. The new Pelješac Bridge from the mainland near Komarna (opened 2022) has made the whole peninsula much easier to reach without dependence on the ferry.
