Archaeological Museum

A three-floor museum facing the Roman forum, with collections covering prehistoric Liburnian culture through the Roman and early-medieval period in northern Dalmatia. The Roman gallery in particular is excellent — sarcophagi, glass, jewellery, the recovered architectural fragments from the forum itself.

A separate set of rooms on the top floor covers early Christian and Croatian medieval art. Labelling is in Croatian and English. Allow about ninety minutes; an audio guide is available at the desk.
