By air. Zadar Airport, 12 km southeast of the centre, is served by Ryanair, easyJet and a handful of legacy carriers in summer; in winter the timetable shrinks considerably. Shuttle buses to the bus station meet most flights and take about twenty minutes.
By bus. Long-distance buses connect Zadar to Split (about 2.5 hours), Dubrovnik (8 hours), Zagreb (3 hours), and into the Istrian peninsula and Slovenia. The bus station sits about a kilometre east of the old town; walk it in fifteen minutes or take a city bus.
By ferry. Jadrolinija operates ferries from Zadar to the nearby islands of Ugljan, Dugi Otok and Pašman, with services to Italy (Ancona) in summer.
