Getting There

Český Krumlov has no train station with direct connections to Prague. The practical options are bus or car.

From Prague, the fastest and most convenient route is by bus. Student Agency (operating as RegioJet) runs direct coaches from Prague Florenc bus terminal several times daily; the journey takes about 3 hours. Book ahead in summer — seats sell out. Alternatively, take a train or bus to České Budějovice and connect from there.

From České Budějovice, buses and trains run frequently. The journey takes 30–40 minutes and is the easiest connection for arrivals from Vienna, Salzburg, or Linz. České Budějovice is well-connected to the main Czech and Austrian rail network.

By car, Český Krumlov is about 2.5 hours from Vienna and roughly 2 hours from Salzburg, making it a realistic stop on a Central European road trip. From Prague the drive takes around 2.5 hours. Note that cars cannot enter the historic centre — park on the outskirts and walk in (5–10 minutes).

There is no airport. The nearest international airports are Prague (Václav Havel) to the north and Linz Airport in Austria to the southwest.
