Most of Esbjerg's drinking life happens in the few blocks between Torvet and the harbour. There are old beer-and-pickled-herring bodegas, a small clutch of student bars near the university campus, and a converted tobacco factory south of the centre that has become one of the best live-music venues in western Denmark.
