Within Gentofte, S-tog Line C connects the main points of interest: Hellerup in the south, Gentofte station in the centre, Charlottenlund, Jægersborg, and Klampenborg at the northern end. Trains run every 10 minutes and the journey from one end to the other takes about 12 minutes.
Cycling is the best way to move between attractions. A dedicated path runs along the Strandvejen coast and connects Hellerup, Charlottenlund beach, and the edge of Dyrehaven without crossing heavy traffic. Bycyklen (Copenhagen's city bike system) operates in Hellerup; further north, bike rental shops near Klampenborg station serve Bakken and the deer park. The terrain is flat throughout.
Buses cover the inland streets but are slower and less convenient than either the train or the bike. A taxi or rideshare from Hellerup to Klampenborg takes around 10 minutes and costs about 150–200 DKK.
