Getting There

Helsingør is 46 kilometres north of Copenhagen and easily reached by train. The Coastal Railway (Kystbanen, line C) runs directly from Copenhagen Central Station to Helsingør in about 45 minutes, with trains every 20 minutes for most of the day. The station is central, a short walk from the castle and the old town.

The train ride along the Øresund coast is pleasant — the line runs close to the sea for much of its length and passes through a series of wealthy North Zealand towns. Helsingør is also the terminus for the ferry to Helsingborg in Sweden, which departs from the harbour adjacent to the castle.
