Elia

Elia is a huge black steel sculpture by Ingvar Cronhammar, set in the open landscape near Birk. It is part dome, part industrial altar: four columns rise from a circular platform, with a central gas flame that fires at random intervals when conditions allow.

Do not come expecting a scheduled show. The point is the scale, the strangeness, and the way the work sits in Herning's flat art-and-industry landscape. It is best combined with HEART, the neighbouring sculpture park, and the geometric gardens.
