Vor Frelsers Kirke (Church of Our Saviour)

The main church of Horsens, known locally as Horsens Cathedral though it does not hold official cathedral status, is a large Gothic structure dating from the 13th century with significant later additions. The red-brick exterior is typical of Danish medieval church architecture; the interior has been altered over the centuries but retains several original features including carved Renaissance altarpiece work.

The church tower provides good views over the town and fjord on days when it is open to visitors. The churchyard is one of the older in the region, with a number of historically significant graves. Entry to the church is free.
