Horsens Industrial Museum

The Horsens Industrial Museum (Horsens Industrimuseum) occupies the buildings of a former thread factory and covers the industrial history of the town from the 19th century through the mid-20th. Horsens was a significant industrial centre — cigarette factory, rubber works, iron foundries — and the museum does well at presenting what factory life actually looked like through original machinery, working production lines, and reconstructed workshops.

The museum is particularly strong on the social history of the workers alongside the technical history of the machines. It is one of the more complete provincial industrial museums in Denmark. Allow two hours for a proper visit.
