Memphis Mansion

Memphis Mansion, formerly called Graceland Randers, is Denmark's tribute to Elvis Presley: a full-scale recreation of his Memphis home built by a local businessman and opened in 1992. The replica covers the main rooms of the real Graceland — the living room, the jungle-themed Jungle Room, the dining room, and the Trophy Room with its display of awards and stage costumes — with attention to period-correct details.

The museum section holds one of the larger collections of Elvis memorabilia in Europe, including original stage costumes, personal items, and concert recordings. There is a restaurant on site serving American diner food. Memphis Mansion is about 4 kilometres south of central Randers and is most easily reached by car or taxi. It draws a surprisingly international visitor base from Elvis fans who make specific pilgrimages here.

A story
Memphis Mansion was built by a Randers-based Elvis enthusiast as a full-scale replica of Graceland, complete with the Jungle Room, the Trophy Room, and a museum containing an extensive collection of Elvis memorabilia. It sounds like a novelty attraction and it is, but it is an unusually committed novelty — the replica is painstaking, the collection is serious, and the sheer improbability of finding it in a mid-sized Danish city makes it genuinely memorable.
