Ruth's Hotel in the Højen district of Skagen has been feeding travellers since 1904, and its restaurant is still the most serious dining option in the area. The kitchen focuses on local seafood — Skagen prawns, North Sea sole, plaice — with a French-influenced style that has been here long enough to feel entirely natural in this setting.
The hotel's terrace overlooks the dunes and the west beach. On warm evenings this is an excellent place to drink Aquavit and watch the Skagen light doing its famous thing on the sand.
