Skagen is a bicycle town. The centre is compact, the terrain is flat, and the distances between the main sights — museum, lighthouse, Grenen, Sand-Covered Church — are all manageable on two wheels. Bike hire is available from several places in town.
To reach Grenen itself, you can walk the 3 km from the car park or take the Sandormen — an open tractor-drawn bus that runs along the beach in summer. Walking takes about 20 minutes each way and is flat all the way.
The town centre is small enough to walk easily. There is a bus service connecting Skagen to Frederikshavn, though most visitors prefer to have their own transport.
