Perlegade is Sønderborg's pedestrianised main shopping street, running from the King Christian X Bridge into the centre of town. It is short — perhaps 400 metres — but lined with the usual mix of Danish chains, independent shops, and pavement cafes that fill in summer.
The southern end gives onto Rådhustorvet, the small square in front of the town hall, where there is a weekly market and outdoor seating in good weather. Coming up from the harbour, Perlegade is a natural way into the town centre.
