Getting There

By air

Lennart Meri Tallinn Airport is 4km from the city centre. It's well connected to European hubs: direct flights operate from London, Helsinki, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Stockholm, Warsaw, and more. Budget carriers including Ryanair and Wizz Air have expanded routes. Flights from North America connect through a European hub.

From the airport, buses 2 and 15 run to the city centre and take about 20 minutes.

By ferry

The Helsinki–Tallinn crossing is one of the busiest ferry routes in the world. Tallink Silja, Viking Line, and Eckerö Line all run the route several times daily; the crossing takes about two hours on a fast ferry. Overnight ferries connect Tallinn and Stockholm (around 16 hours). Ferries arrive at the passenger terminal in central Tallinn, a short walk or taxi ride from the Old Town.

By bus

Lux Express and FlixBus operate long-distance coaches from Riga, Vilnius, Warsaw, and St Petersburg. The main bus station (Tallinn Bussijaam) is next to the train station.

By rail

There is no direct rail link from Western Europe to Estonia. The planned Rail Baltica high-speed line will eventually connect Tallinn to Warsaw and Western Europe, but it is not yet operational.
