Hullo is the administrative centre of Vormsi and, with a permanent population of around eighty, the closest the island has to a village. Most of what travellers need is here: the church and graveyard, a small museum in the former parsonage, a guesthouse or two, and the only shop on the island.
Walk from the ferry pier at Sviby and you will be in Hullo in under an hour. The road runs through pine forest with the occasional clearing of meadow or old farmstead. Take the time to stop at the abandoned wooden houses along the way — many belonged to families who left in 1944 and were never returned to private hands.
