Getting There

The car ferry from Rohuküla on the mainland runs to Sviby on Vormsi several times a day in summer, less often in winter. Rohuküla is a short bus ride from Haapsalu, which is itself reached by bus in about an hour and a half from Tallinn. The crossing takes about forty-five minutes.

Once on the island, the easiest way around is by bicycle — distances are small, the roads are flat, and a few of the guesthouses rent bikes. A car is useful only if you want to combine Vormsi with Hiiumaa or stay several nights. There are no taxis and no scheduled buses.

There are no shops or restaurants away from Hullo and the harbour. Bring food and water for the day if you plan to wander into the western half of the island.
