Inari eats Sámi food when it can: reindeer in every form (slow-cooked stew, smoked fillet, dried into a hard chip-like suovas), Arctic char and whitefish from the lake, cloudberries and lingonberries in season, and the local rye bread. The village's reputation as a Sámi cuisine destination is built largely on a single restaurant — Aanaar at the Hotel Kultahovi — which has put Inari on the international fine-dining map.
For everyday eating the village has a small handful of cafés and a supermarket; in summer, a couple of fishery-attached restaurants on the lakeshore serve grilled fish at lunchtime. Most accommodation in the area is half-board, which is the easier approach in winter when nothing in the village stays open much past 8pm.
