Oulu's main market square, on the harbour where the Oulujoki river meets the sea. A row of bright-red wooden storehouses lines the water — converted from 19th-century warehouses to cafes, craft shops, and a brewery. The market itself is busiest in summer when stalls sell fish, berries, smoked reindeer, and tourist tat.
The square is also home to the city's most famous public sculpture, the Toripolliisi, and is the natural starting point for any walk around the centre.
