Finland's oldest science centre, opened in 1988 in a converted brick factory north of the centre. Two floors of hands-on exhibits — physics, optics, light, electricity — pitched mostly at children but absorbing for adults too. The tall chimney of the old factory now contains a vertical slide and a panoramic lift.
A reliable rainy-day option, especially with kids. Combined ticket with the adjacent Northern Ostrobothnia Museum is good value.
