Telakka is one of Tampere's best-loved multi-purpose venues: a converted industrial space near the back of the railway station with a restaurant, a bar, live music most nights, and a theatre upstairs. The food is better than you'd expect from a music venue — good Finnish staples plus rotating specials — and the bar programme runs from afternoon into the small hours.
The crowd is mixed: students, locals, and the occasional touring band who are performing there that night. The programming skews toward Finnish indie, folk, and rock but covers significant ground. Among Tampere venues it occupies the comfortable middle ground between the sleek hotel bar and the divey rock club, and it does that position well.
