Riverside Sculpture Trail

Where the Midou and Douze rivers meet to form the Midouze, Mont-de-Marsan has laid out a pleasant riverside walk lined with sculpture. The works are varied in style and quality, but the setting makes the stroll worthwhile: green banks, stone bridges, and the old town rising above. The trail connects the area around the Despiau-Wlérick museum to the park on the southern bank, making a natural loop that takes about forty-five minutes at a relaxed pace.

This is the best way to see the medieval towers and old quarter of Mont-de-Marsan at ground level — follow the river south from the museum, cross at the bridge, and return along the opposite bank.
