Autun has a handful of good restaurants befitting a Burgundian town. The cooking here leans on the rich traditions of the region -- beef bourguignon, coq au vin, eggs in meurette sauce, and local Charolais beef. Wines from the nearby Cote Chalonnaise offer excellent value compared to the more famous appellations further north.
