When to Go

Limoges has a mild oceanic climate. Spring and autumn are the best times to visit, with pleasant temperatures and fewer tourists than the Loire or the south. Summer is warm but rarely extreme — July temperatures average around 22°C. The region's forests and valleys are at their best in May–June and September–October.

The city hosts a large enamel art festival in late summer (Émaux d'Art), and the Christmas market in December draws visitors from across Limousin.
