Getting There

Calvi has its own small airport, Calvi-Sainte-Catherine (CLY), 7 km southeast of town. Air Corsica runs year-round flights from Paris, Marseille, Nice and Lyon; in summer there are direct charters from many UK and German cities.

Ferries dock right in the centre of Calvi from Nice, Toulon and Marseille (Corsica Ferries and La Méridionale) and from Genoa and Savona in Italy. The crossing takes 5–13 hours depending on the boat.

The single-track Trinighellu railway runs from Calvi south to Ponte Leccia and on to Ajaccio and Bastia. The Calvi-Ponte Leccia stretch through the maquis is one of the most scenic train rides in Europe; the trains are slow, infrequent and unreliable, which is part of the charm.
