Meaux is one of the easiest provincial destinations from Paris. The journey is short, the connections frequent, and no car is needed.
By train is the standard approach. Trains run from Paris-Est and Gare du Nord to Meaux station on the Transilien P line, taking around 40–50 minutes. Frequency is roughly every 20–30 minutes during the day, more often in peak hours. The station is a ten-minute walk from the cathedral through the town centre. Standard Île-de-France zone pricing applies, making the ticket inexpensive compared to intercity rail. Check SNCF or the Île-de-France Mobilités app for current timetables, as service patterns vary by hour and day.
By car from Paris, take the A4 motorway east, then the A140 or N3 toward Meaux. The drive is around 50 km and takes 45–60 minutes depending on traffic out of Paris (allow longer during morning and evening rush hours). Parking is available near the market square and around the Musée de la Grande Guerre on the eastern edge of town.
By bus is possible but significantly slower — several regional bus routes connect Meaux to surrounding Seine-et-Marne towns, but for the Paris connection the train is always preferable.
