Things to Do

Meaux punches well above its size for a provincial town of seventy thousand. The cathedral alone would justify a visit, but the Great War Museum, the Bossuet palace and gardens, and the lingering medieval street plan around the bishop's quarter make for a full day out. The Brie cheese museum is a cheerful addition for food-lovers. The Marne riverbank ties it all together with a pleasant walk past old mill races and stretches of medieval wall.
