The Church of Saint Peter anchors Ceret's old centre with a sturdy southern bell tower and a cool, shadowed interior. Like many churches in this border country, it carries Catalan religious traditions within a French town plan.
It is worth a short stop between the museum and the square. Look for the contrast between the plain exterior massing and the richer details inside, then return to the streets around it.
