The Musee d'Art Moderne is the reason many travellers come to Ceret. Its collection connects the town to Picasso, Braque, Gris, Soutine, Chagall, and other artists who found the Pyrenean light and Catalan setting irresistible.
The museum is serious without being exhausting. Allow enough time for both the permanent collection and the temporary exhibitions, then step back outside and look at the streets with the painters in mind.
